Melky Cabrera breaks the 7-7 tie in the fourteenth inning, sending the Yankees to a 9-7 win over the Athletics. It was Cabreras second home run of the game, and the first runs scored since the top of the seventh inning. Melky now has four home runs in 23 at bats this season and is slugging .826. For all the whining about the Yankees this year, theyre 9-6 and one game out of first place pending the outcome of the Blue Jays game. Another reason not to make too much of small sample sizes.
