YankeesGround.com | New York Yankees News, yankees Scores, Game Recaps & Commentary - --1B Mark Teixeira's left wrist was brushed by Minnesota CF Carlos Gomez on Friday on a close play at first -- a collision that led to words being exchanged by the players and their managers but didn't lead to further injury, manager Joe Girardi said after the game. Teixeira has battled wrist problems and sniped at Gomez after the player ran into him. Girardi and Twins manager Ron Gardenhire later exchanged words as well. "Ron came out, he started yelling at my player and I hadn't said anything to his player and that I didn't necessarily care for," said Girardi, who added he respects Gardenhire as a manager. "I hope (Teixeira's wrist) is fine and it wasn't just the adrenaline, but I think he's OK."
