--C Jose Molina was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quadriceps. Molina, who suffered the injury while crossing home plate Thursday, is the second Yankees catcher to head to the shelf this week. Starter Jorge Posada suffered a strained right hamstring Monday. Kevin Cash was called up from Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to replace Molina on the roster.
--2B Robinson Cano snapped a 1-for-23 streak with a double in the sixth inning of the Yankees' 4-0 win over the Orioles Friday. Cano added a single in his final at-bat. The two-hit game was his first since May 1, which also marked the last game of his 18-game hitting streak. Cano's average has fallen from .378 to .325 over the last six games. --C Francisco Cervelli made his second big league start a memorable one by recording his first career hit (a single in the fourth inning) and catching a shutout by CC Sabathia in the Yankees' 4-0 win over the Orioles Friday. Cervalli, 23, is expected to see most of the starts behind the plate with both Jorge Posada and Jose Molina on the disabled list.

3B Alex Rodriguez (arthroscopic right hip surgery in March 2009) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He resumed baseball activities April 13, and he began playing in extended spring training in late April. He was activated May 8.
C Jose Molina (strained left quadriceps) left the May 7 game, and he was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 8.
C Jorge Posada (strained right hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list May 5.
LHP Damaso Marte (left shoulder soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list May 3.
RHP Brian Bruney (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 22. He is unlikely to return before late May.
RHP Chien-Ming Wang (hip weakness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 19 with an ailment connected to the season-ending Lisfranc foot injury he suffered last year. He pitched May 2 in extended spring training.
3B Cody Ransom (right quadriceps tear) went on the 60-day disabled list April 26.
OF Xavier Nady (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 15. He will try to rehab the injury without surgery.
DH Hideki Matsui (left knee surgery in September 2008) won't play in the field before June.
